And if you have ever dreamed of seeing a real life mermaid, then we have a surprise for you!
Our names are Alexis & Hannah and we live year round on the magical island of Cape Cod. We are best friends and practically sisters who decided to tour the beaches in hopes of making girls and boys of all ages smile! Whether you are 3 or 83, we would LOVE to meet you. We came up with this idea together, and we hope that you will participate in helping us achieve our goal of spreading smiles as well as awareness for the cleanliness of our Cape beaches. We can be found at many different places, including recent sightings at Red River Beach (Harwich), Nauset Beach (Orleans), and Coastguard (Eastham). We encourage anyone & everyone too step up and take a picture with us, after all, how often is it that you get to see a real life mermaid? We follow the hashtag #capecodmermaids on any social media; be sure to tag your photos so we can see them. Also, please let us know if you are interested in adding your picture to the website gallery ~ the more memories the better!
Helping to keep our beaches clean is very important to us, as well as protecting wildlife everywhere! We ask that you please pick up after yourself on the beach and anywhere else, so you can be a part in changing the world for the better. Everyone is welcome to attend our beach clean ups and other events. Without clean oceans, mermaids and our sea life friends such as seahorses, dolphins, whales, lobsters, starfish, and even sharks could not survive! TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW WE ARE MAKING A SPLASH IN CLEANING OUR WORLDS OCEANS, CHECK OUT OUR MERMAIDS FOR A CHANGE PAGE!!!!
Being a mermaid is not all fun and games though, we have to work hard to be able to swim in the sea! We train year round by surfing, cheerleading, tumbling, and running. We go to a local high school in Eastham where we interact with normal people on a daily basis. During the year, we host beach cleanups, craft fair booths, and other various activities. You can check for upcoming events on any of our social medias (available under the Contact tab). Balancing a life of school, sports, work, and being a mermaid is quite difficult at times, and tips are greatly appreciated. They help us fund and advertise our events to hopefully make them a better experience for everyone involved.
Well, the waves are calling us to go now, but we hope to see you by the water soon! If you have any questions or want to request us for an event or just a sighting, make sure to visit the contact us page. We hope you have a tail-riffic and fin filled day! x.o.x.o Alexis & Hannah
